Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy
The Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy is a restrictive weight loss operation where the stomach is made dramatically smaller to allow patients to feel full and satisfied with small portions of food.
The surgery is done through small incisions in the upper abdomen. Approximately 85% of the volume of the stomach is removed permanently.
Patients stay in the hospital for 1-2 days after surgery, stay on liquids and soft foods for the first month, and are fully recuperated and eating regular food one month after surgery.
Our patients lose approximately 60% of their excess body weight over the course of 12 to 18 months following this operation.
Patients also see improvement in a variety of weight related medical problems including mild diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and fatty liver.
