David May, DO

Dr. May is originally from the Appalachian Hills of Southwestern Virginia.  He earned his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech. During his undergraduate education, he studied in France and Ecuador, where he attained fluency in French and Spanish respectively.


Dr. May went on to receive his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.  He then completed his general surgery training at Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania.  Dr. May continued on at Geisinger to complete his specialty training in Minimally Invasive Bariatric and Foregut surgery.  He is Board Certified in General Surgery, and his Bariatric fellowship training is certified by the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.


Dr. May is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
